Donny Robinson

With the Olympics just a little over 100 days away, the hype is getting into full swing this weekend at the Chula Vista, Calif. Olympic Training Center, where the first UCI Supercross race of 2012 will be held. Though many people were anticipating this race taking place on a Olympic replica track which is being constructed a few short meters away from the current track, it will not be. This may be the last race to ever take place on a course designed to mimic the 2008 Beijing Olympic track, a course which has held some of the most exciting races in BMX Supercross.

2008 U.S.A. BMX Olympic team rider Donny Robinson has had some of his highest (and lowest) moments in Chula Vista. Being named coach's pick prior to the 2008 Olympic Games, Donny made his name well known when he took home a Bronze medal in 2008, and followed that up in 2009 with the World Champion title. In the time since winning an Olympic Medal and World Title, Robinson has gone through a series of career altering crashes. We caught up with Donny in Oldsmar, Fla. last month to get the scoop on what he's been through on his comeback trail.
